Maggie Shaw, MA
Self-Care Systems and Nutrition
Maggie uses cooking to help clients reframe nourishment as a more thoughtful, intentional act of self-care rather than a mechanical process.
Maggie Shaw has studied food and cooking as a public health intervention extensively. In her capacity as Chef at Koved Care, Maggie uses cooking to teach clients about time management, executive functioning, sequencing, resiliency and social skills.
Meal times act as powerful anchors in the day to help clients build out constructive routines and establish better time management. Meal planning, preparation and execution all help clients to develop executive functioning and sequencing skills, and if things go awry in the kitchen Maggie’s support provides opportunity to build resiliency and problem solving skills.
